Thomas Sowell has said "Senator John McCain could never convince me to vote for him."
Ann Coulter has said that a McCain nomination would make her a Hillary Girl. She says McCain "loathes and detests" conservatives. Here she goes on and on about the reasons she hates McCain.
Â
The right wing was infuriated that Senator McCain wanted them to remove a North Carolina Republican Party TV ad featuring Rev. Jeremiah Wright's "God damn America" sermon*.He also drew the full wrath of the right when he repudiated the remarks of right wing talk show host at a McCain Event.
The religious right hates McCain. James Dobson from Focus on the Family has said that he will not vote for John McCain under any circumstances. Pat Roberrson's contempt for McCain was so storng that he endorsed Rudy Giuliani. Early on Senator McCain was very clear about his feelings toward this group.
There is even a Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain that believes he is a brainwashed, commie loving, Manchurian Candidate.
Although McCain has made some peace overtures, there is little evidence that the right is buying.
Limbaugh spends at least as much time on his daily radio program blasting McCain as he does ridiculing Obama and the Democrats.**
David Keene, president of the American Conservative Union, said Sen. McCain "hasn't really made conservatives believe they're involved in a common enterprise." "He sort of reaches out to conservatives on Monday and evidently feels bad about it and slaps 'em on Tuesday," Mr. Keene said***.
*Hillary Clinton chose to use Revrend Wrights sermon for her own political advantage.
**I confess. Ocasionally listening to Limbaugh is one of my guilty pleasures. I equate it to watching a train wreck or tuning in to Jerry Springer.

But the Dems & Liberals seem to think McCain is a carbon copy of Bush. How funny is that?
Left leaning people don't trust him to continue to be the maverick he used to be.
Right leaning people are afraid he will go back to being a maverick after he is elected.
Both Obama and McCain have done quite a bit of flip-flopping lately.
One thing you can be sure, our next president will not be as obstinate as Bush.
