Obama: Bigger Than The Beatles

 

Over the last two years we have seen a young Senator from Illinois transform into a Pop-Culture Icon President right before our eyes.  This admiration and his inspiration of hope has led to a huge market in Obama related merchandise and publicity stunts.  

We thought weÂ’d take a look at some pretty cool, and some pretty awful items/ideas.

The Good .

Obama . David Choe - Pop art done right as this poster was plastered across the streets of the country.  Choe, known for his outlandish dangerous art, appears masterfully humbled in this piece of work.

ObamaPaperPlate.com - You’ve seen the info-mercials for the Barack Obama dish plates that run for two easy payments of $19.99 for a limited time.  Well, one “artist” took it to the next level.  For just $10 “the artist” will hand draw Obama’s likeness to a one of a kind paper plate.  Each personally numbered and completely stupid.  But, it is good to see someone having a laugh with all the madness.

Barack Obama Inauguration Hot Sauce  - Hot sauce is always a good thing, regardless of who’s mug is selling it.

The Bad .

Barack Obama in The Amazing Spider-Man - Presidents in comics is nothing new, but Obama’s “thumbs up” support for a kid in lycra is somewhat disturbing.

Brooklyn Cylcones to change name to “Baracklyn” in June - Small time baseball looking to ride the Obama gravy train in this terrible yet genius marketing strategy.  The new President may enjoy a free game as everyone named Barack will get in for free.
