Sarah Palin Steps Down as Governor of Alaska as of the end of this month. She said she wanted to spend more time with her family, and didn't want the people of Alaska to pay for a lame duck. Now, what? Why would she do this? No one knows the truth. Is the reasons she gave the truth or is she planning a run for president in 2012?
It seems to me not to be the brightest thing to do, to drop one job for planning for another so abruptly, but maybe that's how it's done. Her term would have ended if she didn't run again by the end of next year. So she's quitting in the middle of her term.
What do you think? I was shocked.

It's not believable. If she needs more time with the family, she's dead as a candidate in 2012.
Sarah Palin should have never been put in the National spotlight. It's obvious to me that she wasn't able to handle the heat in the kitchen.
I'm glad that our Muslim, Non Citizen, Ape Like, Socialist, Magic Negro, Dictator, President Barack Obama wasn't so thin-skinned.
I'm not shocked at all. I really don't think she can rebound from her erratic behavior. Reminds me of Katherie Harris, once the darling of the Right Wing.

His skin hasn't been tested yet. Remember how popular George Bush was? Wait till the media starts picking on his children as they did with Bush and Clinton. He's going into Afghanistan. Wow, watch his health bill dwindle. His skin any color won't hold up. Have you seen him gray?

In 2008, some called her "fresh". I called her an embarassment. I want a Veep or a Prez that I can respect, not one who is ripe for ridicule.
When times were good in Alaska she was eager to proclaim her pride in being an Alaskan and the governor. Now that the money is no longer flowing in from the oil revenues she leaves her first term with a year and a half left to serve. When the goin' gets tough the Palin gets goin'.
Yep she is a quitter and Iowa has a hotter governor than Palin.

Honestly, I seriously doubt she'd bother with a 2012 Presidential run. My guess is she really does want to focus on her children and now grandchild. But I'm not privy to the details of Alaska's politics, either. :P
As for her grandchild, I hate when people exploit children, and that's what it looks like she and her daughter did. They should have just shut up.
We had one wanting to quit, don't know why we made him stay and finish his job-hard telling why she is quitting. maybe she just didn't like the rift raft that comes with the job.
That's fine, but quitting in mid term is not looking good for her. At least she says she won't run again.

my take.......her approval rating is slipping. if she gets out now; she'll have a better chance at the nomination in 2012. but who wants to vote for a quitter? i do think she's gonna run, but she may not get the nod from the republican party!! :)
She's in line with the Republican base, like me, but this quitting will have to hurt her at least in the short run. As for Alaska hurting due to oil, I think that's a bunch of poo.

I'm waiting for the financial figures from Alaska. She hasn't "shored up" her state in this economic fiasco era.
I believe she'll be running as a new party. Republican Rapture or some such thing, and try to pull the super-religious vote. That will split the GOP like the independents and the progressives split the Dem Ticket. It may be good for the country--when all is said and done. Maybe we'll get past this "only 2 REAL parties" deal.
Has anyone thought that she might be preggers again? It could be a health issue due to preggers-status. She's getting a might old to be poppin a fresh one out. I think she should stay home and keep a watch on Vlad Putin for us.

I thought it might be some health issue, but as for spliting the GOP, I don't think it would happen except in Democratic Sweet Dream, and that's a nightmare to too many Republicans.

This woman is a quitter. If republicans overlook this quitting behavior during the primaries, the media will not during the general elections. In fact they will downplay it, wait for her to win, and explode it. The move will go along the lines of "She was a quitter since college. She quitted four colleges..."
When the going gets tough, the pol gets going. Can finish a term in Alaska, let's have her run the other 49. That defies logic.
She said she is all done with politics, and she is being investigated. I would expect she will fade from the political scene, after the investigation.
