During Michael Jackson’s memorial service, his daughter Paris Jackson gave an emotional speech about her love for her father. Many of us at home were moved by the grieving 11-year old and close to tears as well. Seeing and hearing Paris Jackson allowed so many viewers to truly understand that Michael Jackson was a dad (biologically or not) and that he meant the world to his children.
But would Michael Jackson necessarily have wanted Paris to speak onstage during the service? As much as Michael may have enjoyed the grand performances and speeches from other celebrities, I think he would have been upset that his children became so involved. He grew up in the spotlight and worked very hard to keep his children out of the press. I don’t think he’d necessarily want them on a stage in from of millions of viewers during such a traumatic time in their lives.
Did the Jackson family really consider what was best for the children? Do you think they exploited Paris Jackson by having her to speak at Michael Jackson’s memorial service?
