The Duggar Family is pleased to announce they're expecting again...make it number 19 this time. The family that already has 18 children (and 1 grandchild) is preparing to welcome lucky Number 19.
In an interview today on TODAY with Meredith Vieira, Michelle Duggar says "We are thrilled to announce that we found out we’re expecting our nineteenth child.” This child will actually be born after their next grandchild who is due October 18th from eldest son Josh and his wife Anna.
The family lives in Arkansas and stars in their own TLC show. According to an article on MSNBC.com, Michelle has been pregnant for 147 months of her life (approximately 12 years). The couple figures they've changed 90,000 diapers and do about 200 loads of laundry a month.
Wow. That's really all I have to say. Just wow. I can't imagine being pregnant for that long. Or changing that many diapers for that matter! I think it's beautiful that they are raising such great kids but come on - at what point do you start to feel like a baby-machine? For me I think it would've been at kid number 5. It's called birth control folks. At the bare minimum, try the "rhythm method" - who knows, maybe that's what they've been trying all along! Well, best of luck to them. They're happy and healthy which is a lot more than some can say in this country.

I forgot to have kids so I'll just have to work in other ways to have my own fan club.
That's the definition of "out of proportion".
They are way way way out of proportion.
"They're happy and healthy" Are you sure??? I wouldn't want to scratch beneath the surface. Just because they pose nice for group photos doesn't mean a thing.
I just wonder how they have enough money to take care of them all. But if they are a loving family and everyone is healthy AND happy then it's not awful. Like Misty said, it looks like they are taking care of them. Not all families take care of even one child well.
It is their right to have 40 kids as long as they are cared for in the proper way. Who cares what is paying the bills, especially since it is not welfare (as far as what has been said about the family).
I think it's disgusting. And no, they're not trying any method of birth control; they're one of those nutty Quiverfull families.
