The mother of Levi Johnston has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Sherry Johnston was sentenced Friday in Palmer, Alaska and Levi was in attendance. Johnston pleaded guilty in August to one count of possession with intent to deliver the painkiller OxyContin. Five other felony counts were dropped in the deal, which called for a five-year prison sentence with two years suspended.

The Anchorage Daily News reports that she will serve her sentence at Alaska's only female prison.

Johnston is the grandmother of Levi and Bristol Palin's son, Tripp.

I think its sad that this is even noteworthy. How many people get sentenced for similar charges? So she is the other grandmother of Sarah Palins granchild... and to boot, they don't put her picture in the paper, they put her sons. The media is merciless.

Her picture was put in the paper. Click the link that says Anchorage Daily News. Any local paper will print a police report.

And what do you expect from a source like Extra? Sensationalizing the news is something they have always been about.

This is true.. I cannot stand sensationalizing as you very well put it... detracts from the true story, which, in this case, was really not important... very typical actually and sadly!

Levi's 15 min of fame will soon disappear. The only reason he emerged was because of the "hate Palin" crowd and to try to get "dirt" on her. When he hit bottom, he will probably follow in his mother footsteps. He's so childish and should grow up. His claim to fame? oh yeah only in today's society.
