My son exchanged his DS Lite for a DSi a few months ago. It is even better - it has a camera and you can decorate your pictures too. It has video camera too. I don't know if there are deals on it though. Remember though - if you get the DS Lite, the original DS fit both the Gameboy SP games and the DS games. The Lite does not. It only fits the DS games. We realized this after we got the DS Lite home and my son couldn't play his favorite Tony Hawk game anymore.

I love my DS Lite. Got it for free with some ebay bucks I won several years ago. I am tempted by the DSi, but I do not like that it does not have a Game Boy Advance slot.

I was able to get my son the newly released special edition Nintendo DSi for $155 at amazon. I used $25 paypal money $30 in amazon credit I already had so I didn't have to pay that much out of pocket.
