Weeds: Season 5 DVD Release Date Set for...

I just started watching the Showtime series Weeds a few weeks ago and I became instantly hooked. I just finished up Season 3 and plan to watch Season 4 over the next couple of weeks, just in time for the Weeds: Season 5 DVD release date which has been set for Tuesday, January 19, 2010.

If you haven't had the pleasure of watching this great show I highly suggest either adding all four available seasons of Weeds to your Netflix queue or just buy the DVD's of all the seasons. It's worth it. The writing and the casting is perfect as Mary-Louise Parker plays the lead character of Nancy Botwin, the pot dealing suburban widow who makes all the people of her neighborhood happy with her MILF-weed. You throw in Elizabeth Perkins as Nancy's uppity neighbor, Justin Kirk as Nancy's brother-in-law and Kevin Nealon as a pot smoking shady accountant/town politician as you have yourself a classic show.

Like I said I'm only through three seasons and I'm anxiously awaiting the fourth season to come in the mail from Netflix. And I will definitely be in line on January 19 when season 5 hits the stores, not to mention that I'm contemplating ordering Showtime specifically to watch Season 6 when it comes along.

Awww. The innocence of the seaon 1-3 Weeds viewer. I don't want to be the one to break your heart but Weeds really takes a trip to wtf? land in seasons 4 and 5. Not all bad though because Season 4 is Nancy's sexiest and season 5 is Shane's um, well, let's see, shall we say most interesting? Happy viewing! But don't say you weren't warned.

Ha. I have heard that the first 3 seasons are the best. And watching some of the previews of season 4 I did get the wtf? feeling. Nancy Botwin dealing in Mexico? Really?
