Guatemala Earthquake January 18th

Guatemala just experienced an earthquake minutes ago on Monday, January 18, 2010 below the oceans surface.  The earthquake was 6.0 in magnitude.  As of now no injuries are destruction  have been reported. To view were the earthquake struck click here.

Those plates are moving around in the Pacific. Maybe we are due for another one in California. Hope most of the retrofits have been done.

Another earthquake happened today at the Cayman Islands.

I live near Ferndale, CA where we had the 6.5 earthquake last week and lost a alot of glassware and everything came down in the house, we had stuff all over and spent 5 hours cleaning up and putting things back in place. It was quite a different shaker than we are used to and scared alot of people. Store windows broke and had their stock all over and broken, street lights came down, power poles and lines down, and one house came off it's foundation, quite a bit of damage, about $35 million I think. Then the haiti quake happened and we considered ourselves very lucky compared to what happened to them. There sure seem to be more quakes lately. Anyone think there are more quakes happening or does it just seem that way?

we are seeing a swarm of earthquakes, mostly around the ring of fire (Pacific Ocean)
