In the aftermath of Haiti’s earthquake disaster, donations are continually pouring in to help the people of Haiti with food, shelter and medical attention. The donations tally so far from around the world is about $ 1 billion.
Over 200,000 people are dead from the earthquake, with many more still buried in the collapsed buildings. It’s reported that over 600,000 people are homeless. Tents are in great need in Haiti at this time to house the homeless and care for the hurt victims.
The website, WEHAVEWENEED.ORG is a place people and organizations post what items are currently in need for Haiti and lists the organization that posted the request. It’s a great place to go for specified donations.
The World Food Program delivered about 2 million meals to Haiti’s victims this past Friday but much more was and is needed.
The Haitian government is urging survivors to go to the North and West parts of Haiti where there is far less damage. No major diseases have broken out yet.
