Sugar cleanse diet is the latest way to get healthy and lose weight. I started a sugar cleanse diet for the new year and didn't even realize it was popular. My doctor said I was diabetic so a sugar cleanse diet was essential. Today Ellen was talking on her show about going on a sugar cleanse diet. What is a sugar cleanse diet?Â
On January 4, 2010, Erin Huggins started a sugar smackdown. It sounds much like a sugar cleanse diet to me. Basically, you eliminate all forms of sugar from your diet including honey and maple syrup for 21 days. You also stop consuming white flour for that period of time and avoid sugar substitutes.Â
Erin Huggins assures us in her blog we will feel healthier, look better and even drop pounds. Many of us have too much sugar in our diets. When I heard my own diabetic diagnosis in January, I started to look at sugar grams in everything I purchased. I was amazed to discover everyday items such as yogurt and cottage cheese could contain high levels of sugar!Â
A sugar cleanse diet can be flavorful and delicious. Tonight we ate rice pasta with fresh tomatoes, spinach, onions and mushrooms in extra virgin olive oil. I bought an array of herbal teas that don't need sweetener to taste sweet and yummy. My husband likes Celestial Seasonings while I prefer Twinings.Â
Two weeks ago I started a sugar cleanse diet and regular workouts with walking, light weights and yoga. I already lost six pounds. I also look and feel noticeably better since I started a sugar cleanse diet. I just hope my blood tests will reveal a much lower sugar level in a couple of months.Â
I am also working with the Gather group Shedding Light. Accountability and creative inspiration keep me reaching toward my goals. Mariana T. offers wisdom and guidance to keep us going in the right direction to good health.Â

These type of diets can get boring quickly so remember to vary the foods a bit while staying within the diet.
I did the fat smash diet and lost 39 lbs, I am about to restart the fat smash diet because I gained 5lbs.

My mum is 69yrs old, she has gone from 5 blood pressure tablets a day to half a tablet and in 3 months she has lost 20 pounds. She says she has got her life back and she doesn't feel like she is dying anymore. Another friend thanks me because after loosing her hair 15yrs prior from a marriage break up has started to grow back.
It is not a diet....it is a nutritional program that feeds the body 242 active nutrients that we can't get anymore.

I must caution you not to get discouraged if, following the same plan, you weight goes back up. That's the pit into which so many fall. The tendency is to initially lose more weight than can be accounted for by reduction in body fat because of the attendant water loss. When the body readjusts its water balance, weight can increase despite the fact that one has indeed reduced their fat stores. If that happens, be patient and keep it up.
More important than what one does over a 21 day period is a change in dietary and exercise pattern which is healthy and to which one is committed.
I'm proud of you that you're taking constructive steps to preserve and enhance your health. I'm anxiously awaiting your report that your hemoglobin A1c is below 6!
