As many as 35 cars and possibly 50 cars were involved in a pile up on I44 in Oklahoma City this morning. There were 20 people taken in ambulances and many more were injured but didn't go by ambulance. The snow melted and refroze overnight, then ice fog moved in this morning. At least 15 more cars were involved in accidents around the city of Oklahoma City this morning during drive time.
Another danger are huge icecicles falling from trees and buildings. Most schools in the Oklahoma City Metro have been closed since Thursday, but today was the first day schools re-opened.
Roads are still treacherous. Three people have slipped on the ice and died because no one knew they were lying there. President Obama acted quickly and declared Oklahoma a disaster area.
