NJ Transit Suspends Bus Services After Passenger is Injured

NJ Transit has suspended most of its bus service in South Jersey because of the winter weather conditions. The NJ Transit suspension will affect 400-series, 500-series and 600-series routes.

A NJ Transit bus passenger, Robert Fortune, was injured after he slid down a snow bank after he exited a bus in Atlantic City last night. The bus ran over him. He sustained leg injuries. Fortune exited the NJ Transit bus with many other passengers. The passengers tried to alert the driver that Fortune has slid under the bus's wheels.

The bus service will be suspended until  further notice. When conditions permit, NJ TRANSIT will announce the resumption of service on njtransit.com and through broadcast traffic services.

NJ Transit isn't alone. SEPTA has suspended all of their bus service - only the underground subways are running. Most of the regional rail lines are suspended as well, and Amtrak has severely curtailed their regional service. The Philadelphia airport is closed, and states of emergency are in effect for just about every township, municipality and borough in the greater Philadelphia area. Of course, Philly was in a state of emergency starting last night when the snow started falling, as they have almost no place to put any of the snow. It's still snowing now, and I'm sick to DEATH of shoveling our driveway! LOL

I bet! We've had more snow than usual here, but still nothing like what they are talking about up North.
