President Clinton has undergone emergency heart surgery following reported chest pains at his New York City home. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton rushed from Washington to New York Presbyterian Hospital to be by her husband's side. The procedre he underwent involved the placing of stents to unclog arteries in the former President's heart. In 2004, Clinton underwent major surgery with a quadruple bypass. Doctors report that it is common for patients to undergo this type of follow up preocedure after suffering from such a condition. Hopefully the former President will come out of this visit healthy, his adviser Douglas Bandis alreadt released a statement claiming that Clinton is "in good spirits and will continue to focus on the work of his foundation and Haiti's relief and long-term recovery efforts."
