This is one of the books in the Rocking Chair Reader series that Paul Harvey spoke of during his radio show saying that he kept it on his bedside table and read an essay every night.

Let your husband choose the winner of the book. I just choose a number like I have in the past. Let him do it. It will be more fun for me that way and he can be involved as well. :)
I do hope to see you here. These chats have been wonderful. Trish is really amazing. She has won many awards for her writing.
I can't wait to see you at the chat. You ask some great questions at the last chat. :) See you tonight.
We will miss you. Do you have any questions for Trish?
If you see Trish again, I will ask..
What genre does she write in?
I will not be able to attend the chat tonight. I am impressed with the work that you have done. I do have a question for you:
Does most of your writings come from personal experience?
Do you think your disabilities have a lower impact on your life as a result of your writing?
I enjoyed reading the article that Connie brought to my attention in a previous post concerning you. Do you do a lot of volunteer work in your community?
The live chat will begin in 30 minutes. It will begin at 9 PM ET. Hope you can make it.
Thank you for adding Nuttin' But Sunshine to -- Sun Bespeckled Ink!
This is now Featured!
I just grabbed a coke as well. The party has officially begun!
Trish is here to answer all your questions tonight.

Roger C. left this question earlier today.

Roger C., through my writing I do volunteer work in my community. When I started writing plays I found I needed a place to hear them read so I asked a group I volunteered for if I could start a program for readings of the work of local writers. This turned into the Second Friday Event which happens monthly. It’s been going on for over 3 years and many writers have shared their work with the community. The other volunteer work I do is to help a fellow writer with her program of hosting a writing group at an assisted living home. We meet with the ladies once a month. They inspire me! That’s the thing about volunteer work if you find your passion you get so much more back. Not that this is the reason to do it!
I will be in and out of the chat. Got a lot going on tonight. Trish, I am interested in your Appalachian connections. Do You live in that area?
I have been to many workshops in Berea. I do a lot of volunteer work in my community so when Brushy Fork has workshops I often attend them. :)
Berea is a beautiful part of the country.
I am glad you did not give up on writing. I am most impressed with your writings. From my research on you, I find that your writing has made a big difference in the lives of many people.
Have you ever worked with the Brushy Fork bunch?

for some of Trish's accomplishments.
I don't really have a question. I just wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed your writing, Trish over the last few years. You are so inspiring and uplifting.
Do you travel to where your plays are performed? If so, how widely have you ventured to make an appearance and under what conditions do you do so?
If I can attend a performance I try my hardest.
Sometimes I have to put a play aside for a few weeks if I get stuck on a scene.
Welcome Jax!

Roger C., I think my writing gives me an outlet and something else to focus on rather than my chronic health issues. It’s a fine line for me. If I get too involved with my writing and writing related activities my body crashes. The writing also gives me a feeling of a purpose and a desire to fight through the rough times.

The Berea community is filled with talented people, partly because of Berea College. Do you ever have opportunity to interact with the students there?
I know the students there work hard to pay for their tution in the college. My husband and I want to spend a weekend there just to visit the shops. I love looking through those shops.
My husband teaches in the theatre dept. at Berea so I am lucky to get to know many of the students. A number of them have been puppeteers.
So far we have 2 puppets per play. If you go to my photos you can see some photos of the puppets.
I think it is so cool that you are able to work with children. They need good role models like you instead of the movie stars on TV. :)
I encourage everyone to stop by and view the photos of the Mountain Spirit Puppets
Is that what you meant?
Is there a norm that you have in mind when writing a play so far as length is concerned or do you just write with no goal in mind? What is the typical length of your plays?
Ten minute plays are 10 pages, one acts can be anywhere from 15 -60 pages and full length tend to be about 90 pages.
When you begin writing a play, do have a specific audience in mind or does the play come first and the specific audience come later?
Did that make sense? LOL
How and when did you first get invited to be published in a magazine?
:)
There are only 15 minutes left in this chat so make sure you ask those questions that you want answers too.
My computer has been broken and I just got it out of the shop today. Woo Hoo! I'm glad I didn't miss saying hello to you tonight.
I visit Kentucky every once in a while (my daughter lives in Kentucky). You have a very lovely and interesting state to draw material from.
Yes, Kentucky is beautiful.
I would like to thank each of you for attending. It has been a great chat. Thanks so much.
Have a wonderful night.
thanks for the time and effort to share with us tonight. I have never written a play but you have caused me to rethink the possibility.
Thank you everyone! This was great fun!
Enjoy the rest of your evening.
Now that you have learned your lesson (going to bed early) you will be staying up later every night. . . won't you? LOL
I am sorry I missed your entrance. Welcome!
:)
Thank you for taking the time to answer the questions for the members of the Gather community. :)
I am sure Trish will come back to answer your question. :) Glad you were able to make it. :)
Connie, you are really doing a great job with these author chats, thank you! I want you to know, I was mentally exhausted at 8PM, had my sruff ready to go to bed with a book and my dogs for the evening when I remembered the chat, hahaha! I'm glad I stayed up for it, I was not disappointed!
Thank you so much for taking the time to say that to me. You have no idea what it means to me. I really have been working hard on them. Wasn't sure anyone appreciated them though. :) Thanks.
I wanted to go on to college after high school and major in Journalism. I opted to get married and raise my family instead. Now my family is raised I find my desire to be a journalist has returned.
I am not pleased with the journalist in today's society though. I feel they are not partial enough. I work hard at being partial.
Connie, I'm very computer ignorant and it never occured to me that someone actually prepares for the chats. Sooooo, that being said, I thank you too. I enjoy reading the comments that others leave and of course being the self centered person that I am I have to add my two cents worth. LOL
When our children turn into adults we often find that surpressed talents find their way back into our lives. I shall pay more attention from now own and try to be more appreciative. Thank you.
I got my computer back from the Geek Squad repair people at Best Buy today and I can't find my word processor. This is not good. I use the spell check on the word processor for everything I type because I can't spell worth a flip so I hope I haven't misspelled any of these words.
You are so sweet. Thank you and don't ever worry about misspelled words. I just type like I talk.. I am a Country Gal and it shows.
Thanks for stopping in to read the transcript. I plan on leaving all the transcripts of the live chats up.
