Rita’s Italian Ice is giving away FREE ices today. Hot diggity dog! I adore Rita’s, particularly the cappuccino gelati, a mixture of soft serve custard and cappuccino ice.   The lemon ice is wonderful as well.  Oh heck, who am I kidding? I haven’t tried a flavor I didn’t like.  I have been going to the Westerville, Ohio Rita’s for several years now. I’m certainly glad the weather is warming up, so I can once again enjoy the delicious ices and gelati.
Rita’s always has at least ten to fifteen different flavors of ices, as well as soft serve custards to mix and match. The helpful staff is always willing to let you taste a flavor before making your decision. You can mix and match flavors, like banana custard with chocolate ice, a lemon/strawberry ice parfait, or a raspberry ice swirled with vanilla custard. The sky’s the limit on flavor and taste combinations.
Rita’s also makes terrific smoothies and shakes.

The ices should be dairy-free, but I have an allergy to Westerville also.
The new place is at Cleveland and 161. Hany Baransi is the owner and he just moved into the old Chili's building a couple months ago. Gyros, hummus, falafal, and beer battered onion rings. We started eating there when he had a closet and 8 tables about 20 years ago.
