Comparison: iPad vs. iPad 3G - Which Model Is...

Over at Wired they have a great breakdown of the differences between the basic, Wi-Fi-only iPad model and the 3G model (which won't be out until later this April).

Which model will be best for you? It depends on your needs, including factors such as:

Mobility (access to Wi-Fi at home vs. frequent travel)
Storage (media eats up lots of gigs)
The redundancy possibility for iPhone and iPod Touch owners
No contract for 3G (awesome!)

Which model will you purchase (if any)?

neither, but i do have to say they look nice! but ive always been function over form kinda guy. i guess thats why i have strayed away from mac in general

Macs are incredibly functional. Perfect blend of form & function - that's why Apple is genius.

but the prices dont pan out to the same for the specs. i had a mac back in the day. and if i were doing video or maybe graphic design for a career. i may sing a different tune. but, i dont. and for my money, ill go pc every time.

I agree there's a price premium for Apple products.

What shocked me is the fact that the most expensive model of iPad is less than $900. I thought for sure that being an "Apple" the prices would start at $1000.

i could get a GOOD PC laptop for 900...lol. but, it is what it is, they are sexy little machines and a lot of people look for that. i dont. give me the option between a truck and a camero, im going to take the truck. because i can use it. (same price that is)
