Today is Earth Day, a day set aside for all people to pay tribute to Mother Earth by giving back to the environment. But, did you know, that the Earth gives back to you in a myriad of ways every day, if you just pay a little attention. She gives you clues to keep you healthy.
We all know that certain foods contain certain vitamins and minerals to keep us healthy. Anyone over the age of five knows that citrus fruits contain vitamin C, and can help prevent colds, and that carrots help keep the eyes healthy.
But, have you ever looked at your food? I mean REALLY looked at it? Mother Nature has given us clues as to which fruits and vegetables help which organ/body part. All you have to do is LOOK.
Did you know?:
A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye... and we know that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.
Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food. Not to mention all those antioxidants(cancer preventers) they contain.
Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas, which produces insulin, and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of sperm to overcome male sterility.
Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look like the mammary glands (breasts, boobs, hooters, etc...) of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymphatic fluids in and out of the breasts.
A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. Research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed a pure heart and blood food.
A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles and folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neurotransmitters for brain function.
Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like ...your neighbor's pool.
Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb resemble bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these ribbed veggies are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus mak
ing them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female and they resemble these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. How coolis this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit.
There you have it. Nature has given us a multitude of clues to keep us healthy, if you just take the time to look.
