Actually, this was pretty simple:
BEGIN PROOF
1) President Barack Obama's mother is a citizen of the USA, and was at the time of his birth.
2) ANY child of a citizen (male OR female) of the USA is, itself, a "narural born" citizen of the USA until the age of 18, when that child MAY opt for 'other' citizenship.
3) Barack Obama made no application on or after his 18th birthday for citizenship other than that with which he was born.
4) QED - Barack Obama was born/is now/remains a natural born citizen of the USA!
5) QED (again) - Arizona House of Representatives is a pack of fools.
END PROOF
See? Told you it was simple.
Oh, and that Item 2 thing? Think of all the GIs since WWI who spent time in foreign lands. Now, think DNA testing. And you thought ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION was a population expansion problem? Heh-heh-heh...

Fact of the matter there was no fix or conspiracy, they (the GOP) just lost this time around.
To change you have to have an open mind. Or even a mind to change. Can't change what is not there.
:O\
:O\
I know you are a non believer...but there are too many closed minded people.
The Muslim Religion is not the bad guy, its the sucidial bombers are the problem.
You've already attracted a racist, anti-Muslim birther maggot. Oh, excuse me, it's only mickey.
If he wants to serve in public office he should expect to make some basic information about himself public.
It is extremely disrespectful, not only to the President, but to
tome and to every citizen in this nation who knows Barack Hussein Obama is a natural born citizen of the U. S. A. and to every agency that verifies candidates.
Yes this is done,
not to mention that were it true,
the Republicans would have jumped for joy instead of running out and hiring Sarah Palin to attract Hillary's voters away from Barack Hussein Obama.
Sure makes Arizona look like a fool's Paradise.
Point for the record... I didn't say it would cause him trouble. I just said they AZ House was a pack of fools. Anyone want to ARGUE the point?
Apart from the President's situation, having a more formal method of publicly documenting presidential eligibility than the current "because we (the campaign) say he is ok" method which Arizona is trying to establish is a good good. It's transparent, is that why you don't like it?
As for the President, if he was born in the US then his mother's citizenship status is moot as he would be a citizen outright. If he was not born in the US then his mother's US citizenship status can be used to confer the same upon him so long as she has been in the country long enough after her 16th birthday. I believe there is some issue about how long she was here prior to his birth as well as the actual laws in place at the time. Even snopes admits that this determination is by no means simple so why the continual arrogance and condescending attitude towards people that have legitimate concerns especially in light of the lack of consistent publicly available documentation. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/citizen.asp
It is interesting that his own campaign has variously listed two different hospitals as his birthplace. Why the confusion? Where do I erect the "Barack Born Here" sign? In front of which building?
When were these congressional hearings?
Surely you have a date.

NO child who could prove American Citizen parentage has EVER been denied citizenship, or has had to "APPLY" for it.
There IS NO "legitimate concern here," and I'll be as dismissive as I wish. It's utter nonsense. The whole thing in embarrassing to America and the vast majority of Americans. People need to STOP IT!
Take a breath. As usual your bluster and arrogance exceed your grasp of the facts. The following paragraph from snopes (quoted above) states the issue about his mother in an, I believe, fairly accurate fashion. It matters because he only has one American citizen parent (vs two) so her age is important.
"The item quoted above posits that Barack Obama does not qualify as a natural-born citizen of the U.S. because the law in effect at the time he was born specified that "If only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16." Since Barack Obama only had one U.S. citizen parent (his mother), and his mother had not been residing in the U.S. for at least five years after the age of 16 when Barack was born (because she herself was only 18 at the time), then he's not a natural-born citizen. "
Like I asked above, just tell me which hospital to put the sign in front of?
What;s embarrassing is having an American president bowing to everybody in sight, continually apologizing for America, and insulting our long-time allies.
As an interesting side note, the whole natural born citizen criteria existed because the Founders wanted to make sure that a President has strong allegiances to THIS country and not to some other. Regardless of his citizenship status the President is often seen as over the line on that allegiance thing in the view of many.
Documentation of the same sort that would allow the President to be on a Little League team (so far unreleased if if exists) would STOP the issue in it's tracks. Why not release it? Hmmmm? Hmmm? Hmmmm?
Neither of those articles says that there was a hearing. There was a resolution.
The rest is just your usual frightwing blather.
For starters, what he HAS released would get a kid on any Little League team, it would get YOU AND your kid passports and visas, it would serve for any purpose for which you might need to produce a birth certificate, BUT... (there's ALWAYS a "but," isn't there?) BUT...
I think the REAL reason the President is not producing the "long form" birth certificate (which, BTW, I got laughed at when I asked for mine) is that... watching you birther idiots run around frothing at the mouth and stomping your feet and demanding this irrelevant document is just too damn much fun to stop.

Point is McCain was properly considered, Obama got a pass.
Chuck, just tell me which hospital to put the sign in front of?
Good job. Answer no questions. Address no issues. What a good comrade you are.
Which isn't a surprise either.
George, is that the best you can do?
Tell me the legal implications of his parent's divorce.
And i don't think the divorce matters.
From reading the writings of the men who wrote the constitution you will find they did not want a person who has loyalties in two countries to be president because. It would cause a conflict of interest. The question of Dual citizenship in respect to "Natural Born" needs to be addressed by the SCOTUS. Ali's right it has not been defined.
If it is done because of Obama or not it is something that should be done. I doubt it would have any effect on Obama's presidency but it would definately be a factor in future elections. Actually it was a factor in Obama's election because of the retoric against McCain not being qualified since he was born in Panama. Documents had to be produced but none were asked of Obama.
That action would be tyranny. Sad that you have mainlined so much jack-booted socialist kool-aid that you are not even aware that your ramblings are un-American to their core.
My respect for Arizona has been diminishing steadily recently.
We love our illegals, well our farmers and rich do, all that nice cheap labor for the fields, house keeping, yard work, janitorial services, child care, and . . . the biggest bouns of all,
keeps the teachers employed.
If the farmers, et al, and big, over seas biz, were required to pay immigrants a lving wage equal to at least min. wage and to prove that their "accounts receivable" matched up PERFECTLY with their "accounts payable" then there would be no benefit to hiring these immigrants/slave labor.
(I know, Holy Runon Sentence Batman)
not that they can tell Espanol from Portugese or Persian, or Arabic or Urdu.
Some of these fools can be heard saying we have to have some to keep the cost of veggies and fruit down and to do the lawns and janitorial work . . .
They can be given work permits, must never be allowed to become citizens and never, never, never have babies while here or bring their children with them to do the work.
I do swear I have heard these statements.
Apparently, the music never touches your souls, and all of you need to get-a-grip!!
Thanks for posting this to 4 US, World News & Opinions.
there has never been any arument here as far as I'm concerned1) He has not produced his birth certificate.
2) Noyt producing it doesnt mean he wasnt born here or isnt a citizen. I watched my own son being born right here in America so I know for sure my son is a citizen. Whether or not I show you his birth certificate, he is a citizen. The same goes for Obama.
I think we all agree on these two points.
Lets enter the world of the hypothetical for a moment.
Lets say that Obama (or any man) - by his own admission - was not a citizen.
Can he run for president? No. He is ineligible.
But who can stop him from running? Whose responsibility is it?
Without proof - the only proof of which would be birth certificate - it means we are leaving up to each and every person to decide about themselves whether they are eligible.
Without concrete proof (again that would be a birth certificate) what is the difference between a citizen and a non-citizen.
By your standards, if I say Im not a citizen then it is true. If an illegal crossing the border says he is legal, then its true.
So no, we can't agree on something that has already been disproven.
No proof will ever satisfy the Birthers. They know what's what; facts be damned.
*waving wildly*
The whole thing began when the same guy, who has made the same lawsuit and accusation of McCain, also made it of Obama. The guy was a quack when he did this to McCain, and he is still a quack when he does the same thing to Obama. There were lots of other lawsuits. but all else has been pushed aside, especially since Obama won the Presidency.
I think the birthers are all John Birchers or American Nazis or or other white supremacist
I say 7 because that was the tally I heard before the inauguration.
Yes, I was born in England, but my mother was an American. When I came over at 10 months old for a trip to NYC to see her family, I went on her passport.
When I went back in 1969 to england, I took that one page from her American passport and got one for myself, then got a British passport as well.
Thanx, Georgiana
The laws changed shortly before Barack was born. Originally, the law stated that to be a natural born citizen, a child's mother had to have been a US citizen for at least five years after her 16th birthday.
Since Obama's mom was only 18 when he was born, she had not lived anywhere for five years since her 16th birthday.
Absent an authentic birth certificate, you're still going to have lots of doubters. I don't quite see what the big deal is. Why not just publish the certificate to prove there is nothing to hide?
It's already passed muster, Yet, all the birthers keep going off every old arguement made from the beginning.
Arizona needs to stop electing people who beat up their girlfriends, and support the sale of guns to drug cartels.
WOULD SOMEONE TELL ME THE NAME OF A NEARBY LIBERAL OWNED GUN STORE, PLEASE.
