America was founded on the belief that government should be of and by the people. We created a Constitution to place that belief into law. That constitution has protected our freedom and liberty for two centuries by providing us with a representative government, a Congress—one accountable to its citizens. Until now. Today, Congress is out of control. Our country is nearly bankrupt, our physical security threatened and our economy changing from free market prosperity into European socialism as the Majority rulers brazenly ignore the will of the people.

Every U.S. Senator takes an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution, yet this Congress has consistently voted for programs that are against both the spirit and letter of the Constitution. The Senators in recall states are guilty of malfeasance and fiscal impropriety. They have voted to incur massive debt upon the people; their actions have thrown the nation, even the world, into financial morass, and they are legislating unconstitutional programs such as socialized medicine. The right of recall maintains democratic accountability throughout the term of an elected official, enabling citizens to correct such abuses without having to wait for the entire term to expire.
Today, 17 states have recall provisions in their state constitutions and one (Montana) has a recall statute. Current law in 11 states provides for the broad recall of elected officials. These are: Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, Oregon, Washington, and Wisconsin. These eleven states have a total of 14 incumbent Senators who are not standing for re-election in 2010. DON'T TREAD ON ME

So, let me get this straight - you want the government to have greater powers to spy on and input itself into American's lives - while at the same time - you decry the government getting into people's lives and "Socialism"?
Um - have you ever read that "Constitution" thingy you mentioned?
One of the great examples of famous last words.
That's the MOST DANGEROUS kind of thinking in this whole debate. The Constitution doesn't say, "The government gets to invade your privacy all it wants to because if you're innocent you should be OK with it." It says, "You have to have a REASON to go digging into people's lives, phone calls and porn usage."
As I have nothing to do with any criminal element or subversive activity or drug smuggling or porn. No, I have nothing to hide and there is a very good saying that I apply to all people I meet.... "People who have nothing to hide, hide nothing"...
Oh BTW, have you ever applied for car, house, any major purchase loan? Or filled out a job application? Or, applied for a passport?
Here's a for instance for you to ponder: If the government got a tip that someone was planning to assassinate a powerful American Politician, wouldn't you want the government to be able to secretly tap that suspects phone? Or if you had a tip that someone was selling drugs to high schoolers, wouldn't you want the government to secretly tap that suspects line? Or, if you heard that the neighbor down the street was involved in a child prostitution ring, wouldn't you want the government to secretly tap that phone? If the government got a tip that someone was planning to bomb that plane you are supposed to fly on, wouldn't you want that suspects phone tapped?
I would say absolutely yes to each and every one. In war and terror attacks we HAVE to do some things that are we are uncomfortable doing, but sometime we have to!
The key word you are missing is "warrantless" See, tapping into telephones has always been legal, if one gets a court authorization, meaning there must be probable cause.
That is what the Dubya Bush Adm. didn't think was necessary, the blessing of a Justice, and what you fail to understand.
Now don't go blaming it on Clinton. If the same had happened 9 months after President Obama took office, you wouldn't be blaming Dubya.
They havent thought that far ahead yet. First they need to reinstate the Jim Crow laws...ya know the white opps I mean right way..then they will deal with it.
Hmm...Since the beginning of the US the Supreme Court has been doing the same thing people are criticizing it for doing now. I think a lot of folks need to review basic civics and read a few Supreme Court decisions from the late 1700s and early 1800s. Neither the Constitution nor statute law explicitly defines every conceivable situation. When judges interpret the law in a new way they're doing it because precedent and statute don't cover the situation or, in rare cases, they believe that existing precedents don't apply to the particular case. It's not usurpation of power, it's part of the job description.

And I have a question... Where will that 16 million dollar fine paid to the government be going??
I know that the problem in Greece is Bush's fault too!
Government for and by the people.. not people for and by the government....
While I dont have mind reading ability like Sue I think what they mean is the Constitution is fluid as long as their is an old white republican in the white house to trample all over it then turn around and tell you he did it for your own good.
Now, The Great Divider believes our Constitution is fundamentally flawed??
I guess, for what good it will do, he needs reminded of the oath of office he took on Jan 20th 2009??
“I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, PRESERVE, PROTECT and DEFEND the Constitution of the United States.”
"The liberties of our country, the freedoms of our civil Constitution are worth defending at all hazards; it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors. They purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood. It will bring a mark of everlasting infamy on the present generation—enlightened as it is—if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of designing men."—Samuel Adams
Demoralize the enemy from within by surprise, terror, sabotage, assassination. This is the war of the future.
He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.
Great liars are also great magicians.
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think.
Adolf Hitler
Hmm...The Supreme Court has been defining and redefining the Constitution since the beginning of the US. It's set precedents and overturned precedents throughout US history. The Constitution is a general document that requires interpretation in situations that aren't explicitly covered. That's what judges do. If that weren't the case, judges would have a much simpler job.
If I read your answer correctly what you are saying is that Obama or anyone else cant take away your rights because you dont get them from government but from god.
So if that be the case than why all the complaining?
Not everything is an arguement. If I disagree with you then I am just disagreeing with you.
When one makes a statement like that it leads me to believe that what you really mean is that anything other than total agreement to your POV is arguing and not acceptable. You dont want to hear or think about another POV.
As the ole saying goes something like, there are none so blind as those who will not see.......
Kudos Sandy!
I cant disagree with that however you are still going to face the same issues as we have now.
While I see Medicaid as right another will see it as wrong. I see enforcing our immigration laws and getting any person who is here illegally out of this country and making sure we have stricter border enforcement another will still see the US as the great melting pot without borders where everyone is welcome.
Those of us who happen to prefer high quality medical care happen to think otherwise.
Question for you: Can you point to any posts decrying the Republicans Expansion of the Socialist Medicare Program via Medicare Part D - with billions in unfunded spending?
Or the almost Trillion dollars in unfunded wars?
Or is this outrage something that suddenly came up after Obama was elected?
You are confused. President Obama caused all that before he was elected.
He is so powerful. See that is why they are freaking out scared...
Cena spot on as usual.
Amnesty Amnesty Amnesty to increase his voter base. How Crass is that?
1. Many, people who filled out the paperwork and were legalized after the 1986 immigration reform legislation. Have not applied for citizenship and are still legal residents, not elgible to vote.
2. There will be no new voters for many years if immigration reform passes.
3. First, paperwork must be processed and approved to obtain legal status.
4. I think it takes about 10 years to apply for citizenship and does require proficiency in English, a test and a test on the U. S. political system and the U. S. Constitution.
So. . . That is a HUGE lie that there will be new voters if immigration form is passed.
Could you pass the test?

I just don't feel week this weekend. Very tired.
Well - since Obama has been elected:
1) The Stock Market has skyrocketed - hopefully all of those Anti-Obama people didn't listen to Far Right Talkers and got so scared that they pulled their money out of the market.
2) New Home Sales also skyrocketed last month - with the biggest monthly increase in 47 years.
Sort of funny how with all of the "Socialism" being forced on us and the country going to hell - plenty of these "Smart Folks" are seeing no problem at all investing their money into the American market that exists under Obama.
By the way - yet another post from people who throw out general statements but refuse to tell specifically what they want done and how much they are willing to sacrifice to get it done.
We are still confused, any conservative will tell you clearly.
All these positive things are from Regan's policies.
If you or anyone can answer or predict specifically about the stock market, hey, you need to open a consulting business. It's always been a yo yo the old "what goes up, will come down, what goes down, will come up"
The old "Bull and Bear" market has a life of its own. You Betcha!
If the market is down it is President Obama's fault.
If the market is up, it has a life of its own.
Yes that is conservative/Republican logic.
What I said was, the "market" is not a true indicator of economic stability.... business growth, the job market, inflation/deflation, supply and demand, interest rate stability, and a whole lot of other economic barometers are more telling.
Say, how is that job market doing anyway?
Remember all of the times in the past when a candidate promised one thing and when elected, did another? It’s as simple as saying later, “Well…that was then and this is now. Things change! I won and now I will be able spin my agenda with real power” At that point we can do nothing and are mostly stuck with what we have for the duration.
Our country’s stability and dominance has been manipulated and compromised by self-serving interests domestic and abroad. The world is in chaos and getting worse every day. The handwriting is on the wall for all who are able and willing to see what is really happening. There’s a lot at stake and we should all choose wisely when electing any future representation.
Change being the essential process for all existence does not mean change for the sake of change or in the interests of the few. The people of our great country are smart enough to know what is needed. What we really need is to unite using the Internet to its full potential and expose the self-serving for what they really are in truth. Year after year politicians want us to elect them to power. They should ultimately be accountable to the people and not to the big money special interests.
There is no magic wand or pill to make things better. Change for the better will only come when we the citizens of our great country put aside our differences in exchange for the positive things and needs we all have in common and elect our leadership to do our will of the people in the best interests for the long-term. If they aren’t doing what is in the best interest of the people, the majority should simply vote them out in the next election. In California there are currently two candidates from the same party that are spending millions mud-slinging each other to get votes. What a waste! I won’t vote for either of them.
With truth there comes trust and a new beginning would be at our doorstep with unlimited possibilities. I only hope that most of us can recognize reality and truth through the pretense of any perceived or significant so-called change for the better. And no change should ever be permitted if it compromises the foundation of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, or anything contrary to the principals our country was founded on - Of and By The People.
Little to no truth, little to no trust... Duh, folks! Catching on yet??
"And no change should ever be permitted if it compromises the foundation of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, or anything contrary to the principals our country was founded on - Of and By The People."
SO VERY WELL STATED, Simon!!! Great to see ya, friend!
By offereing $8,000 to home buyers, common sense dictates that housing starts would "skyrocket". Now, when there are no more "buy your vote" deals, just what would a reasonable person think will happen to the housing starts? Or perhaps, the Great One plans to give out $8,0000 for eternity...
If you or anyone can answer or predict specifically about the stock market, hey, you need to open a consulting business. It's always been a yo yo the old "what goes up, will come down, what goes down, will come up"

The $8k is helpful but would hardly account for such a huge rise in home sales.
As for the Stock Market - I clearly remember - and you can easily review this on internet - the Far Right blaming Obama for the decline of the Stock Market EVEN BEFORE he took office.
So - fair is fair - if the Far Right blames Obama for a decline - its really only right to give him credit for the Increase in stock prices :)
WoW what power. That means Dubya and Cheney and the Republican Senators and Reps, were just totally useless dolts.
What were they getting paid for?
While the media generally portrays nullification as being solely aligned with the efforts of the nullifiers of the South and the Civil War, this is certainly false, and reeks of misinformation. Nullification has a long history in the American tradition and has been invoked in support of free speech, in opposition to war and fugitive slave laws, and more.
