Live Video from the Gulf of Mexico sea floor shows only drilling mud blowing up from the well as a result of the “Top Kill†process started yesterday in attempt to stop the flow of oil. It is still coming up at about the rate as the oil was, but it is a hopeful sign. BP officials are saying it will be sometime this afternoon or tonight before enough mud will have been pumped into the well to be able to get a real indication if the Top Kill process is working.
MSNBC and CNN are reporting on TV the fact the only drilling mud appears to be coming from the well, but both caution the image from the live video feed is not an accurate indicator at this time.
Experts are warning the Top Kill process is very dangerous and could make matters worse. Adding heavy drilling mud “down the hole†is designed to increase pressure in the well above that of the gushing oil, thereby stopping the runaway flow of gas and oil. The intent is to slow the flow of contaminates from the well enough to add concrete to the hole and seal the well. But until that is done, the pressure from the gusher and the mud could cause blow outs, or ruptures, in the well which could make it almost impossible to stop.

Dexter...I wouldn't worry about how long it takes to get your posts accepted into any of the Essentials. The worst-case scenario is that you lose a few thousand page views. So what? ;-)
I was glad to see that it only took 8 hours for this one to make it through.
Dexter - I was joking. A few thousand page views here and there can really add up. I do hope that Gather fixes this mess.
However, you may soon earn (back) your ability to publish to the News Essential (or others) without your content being moderated.
