Yep, you read that right. All school-age kids from first-grade on up.
The new policy will require the school nurses to supply condoms to any student who requests one. Superintendent of Schools Beth Singer said though if an especially young child asks for one the child's motives will be questioned and the nurse will act accordingly.
It seems the school committee was reluctant to set an age, first considering only high school students, then through discussion realized that even younger kids may be having sex, decided not not put an actual age or grade as a limitation.
Personally--and I raised two girls--I don't know what business it is of a schools to hand out condoms. That's the family's responsibility, and for some crazy reason schools, teacher, and school administrators and other personnel have over the years been given responsibility for things they have no business having.
What do you think? Am I all washed up?

i mean, i understand their logic for the condoms, and i doubt if a six year old is going to need a condom, but when did this become a school's responsibility?...
I wouldn't oppose it. I think J R B is incorrect.
