There was news of a new tropical storm forming in the Atlantic Ocean overnight. News of Tropical Storm Colin arrived with the 5am advisory earlier this morning. The latest news on the storm has it at sustained winds of 40mph with gusts up to 50mph. At the time of the last report, Colin was located about 945 east of the Lower Antilles Islands.
The good news about Tropical Storm Colin is that the storm is not expected to hit land. The projected path as reported by CNN has the storm heading west in the Atlantic Ocean and just missing Puerto Rico.
As with any storm during hurricane season, things can change quickly, so it is best to keep an eye on this one as it continues to develop.
