The parents of a boy killed in a car crash found out from his classmates that his brain was floating in a jar at a city morgue. The parents are suing because they weren't asked or told that the city's medical examiner was keeping his brain in a jar.
The story gets even more bizarre if that's possible. "But what's worse is how they found out: The boy's classmates, including his girlfriend, spotted it labeled with his name while they were on a school field trip to the mortuary," according to Aol News.
The kids got really upset when they saw the name of Jesse Jerome Shipley labeled on a jar of a flo
ating brain. Shipley died in a car accident on January 9, 2005.  Shipley's father had the body autopsied, but assumed he buried the whole body including his son's brain.
Can you imagine the horror for both the parents and the students to learn of this? The students used their cell phones to take pictures of Shipley's brain, but the teacher took took their cell phones away.
The parents of Shipley have filed a lawsuit, and this case goes to the courts now. This is so bizarre, and wrong. Now, can you imagine that your loved one's brain or body parts is sitting in a jar in a morgue somewhere without your knowledge?

But, yeah, I feel much as you do. I don't care what they do to my body when I'm done with it.
I think I read where Michael Jackson's brain had to wait to have tests done on it. Something about how they harden as they age. Eww ....
