New photos have emerged of the Nebraska teen mom who duct-taped her 2-year-old son to a wall. Somehow, the young toddler is now back in the mother's custody. The 18-year-old mother took several photos of the boy "for fun" with his entire body, hands, arms, and legs duct-taped, and was convicted a week ago. The police found out about the incident that occurred on Dec. 31, 2009, after one of the mother's friends who disagreed with the act took her camera to the police station.
Prosecutors have revealed the information, saying the mother and her "ex-convict boyfriend" took the toddler and locked in him in a dark closet with his body taped to the wall while "they were high on drugs." The boy's mother, Jayla Hamm admitted to using drugs and was sentenced in late September, reports ABC News.

Hamm received a light sentence of just 10 days in jail and two years probation, plus drug counseling. Her boyfriend 19-year-old Corde Hornea was given a heavier sentence because of his past criminal record. Hornea received three to five years in jail for child abuse, and an "additional 12 to 24 months on felony possession of stolen firearms."
The photographs are truly disturbing, and how the mother thought this was a joke is absolutely inconceivable. In the photos found, one depicted the child's wrists and arms and entire body taped to the wall, and his "sippy cup" taped just beyond his reach, with the child visibly crying.
It seems ludicrous that not only did her sentence not fit the crime, as she wasn't even sentenced with child abuse, but she now has custody of her child once again! And this is just one instance where she has been caught. Hopefully that poor child and his mother will receive psychological help. The investigation of a separate case against the mother will continue and will determine whether the mother will permanently retain custody of her child.

My daughter is only 4 months at the moment and i cannot imagine EVER doing that =[
And the justice system is certifiably loony to let the child back into her custody!?
I am sitting here almost in tears because of what this poor boy had to go through, it makes me want to do any and everything i can just to take care of him myself because i know if he was in my care he would get a good healthy meal every single day, nice clothes to keep him warm, a nice bed to rest his little head, and most importantly the love that he is apparently lacking from staying with his birth mother!
