According to a police statement, a 63-year-old Connecticut man was arrested Monday evening for allegedly sexually assaulting a horse. Someone called the cops on him and reported the man was touching a "horse in a sexual manner and the horse appeared to be in pain."
Police arrived at the corral where the inappropriate touching of the horse was under way and arrested Marian Wegiel.
As reported by MSNBC, Wegiel told officers that “a loud noise frightened the horses and he was merely comforting them.†He also stated he “may have inadvertently put his fingers inside one of the horses.â€
Though three horses were in the corral at the time of the abuse, it appeared to cops that only the one female horse had been touched. A veterinarian was called to check on the horse.
Facing an array of charges, including animal cruelty, sexual assault, criminal trespassing and breach of peace, Wegiel posted a $500 bond and is due back in court November 1.
