Prince Charles stirs speculation that his wife Camilla may take the title of queen of England when Charles becomes king. When Prince William, who is third in line to the thrown, Â announced this week that he will marry Kate Middleton who is a commoner, Prince Charles made comments alluding to the fact that Camilla may be called queen as well.Â
Some royal watchers are concerned that a commoner like Kate Middleton who has no royal blood will become queen, so what about Camilla?
"Camilla legally will be queen if Charles takes the throne, but when the couple married in 2005 officials said she planned to adopt the title Princess Consort rather than the more traditional Queen Consort." Now, Prince Charles has indicated that Camilla may take the role of queen. After all, who could stop them?
The difference between Camilla and Kate Middleton is many people hate Camilla for what they see as Camilla stealing Prince Charles from Princess Diana. Camilla even did not take the title of former Duchess of Wales because it belonged to Diana, but now, for her to be queen would add salt to the wound.Â
Americans may view the whole debate as frivolous, but isn't the queen supposed to be royal, or what's the point? Is this watering down royalty, so to speak?

Camilla had an affair, Kate did not.
Princess Diana has pretty good shoes to fill. Camilla has a reputation as a home wrecker, Kate does not.
THAT'S THE FREAKING DIFFERENCE!!!!!
I was never a fan of Charles.
As for Camilla, if she becomes Queen, she'll be The Queen Of Tarts! LOL
Personally, I don't think that will ever happen.
I don't think the British people would be at all happy for Camilla to be crowned queen. And, it cannot happen without the agreement of parliament.
Those dogs with cameras will try to follow her to the loo and everywhere inbetween.. She, like Diane, will not have a moment's privacy or peace and it will, in the end, drag her down the same as it did the late princess.. I feel terribly sorry for her and William but, at least, he's used to the never-ending procession of watchers, after all, they've been on his tail since the day he was born.. She, however, hasn't a clue as to how bad it's going to be now that she is going to become 'Princess Kate'.. There really should be a law or two in place to protect people from those insatiable jerks!
As for Camilla, Charles is correct, if Kate is allowed to become Queen, then Charles has every right to speak up for his wife his wife to join him as Queen, no matter what happened in the past.. She didn't commit a crime, all she did was stick by him when he made a big mistake, that of marrying Diane when he really didn't want too.. He should have said no to his mother when she insisted he marry 'royalty'! If anyone was at fault for that whole disastrous affair it was he and the Queen.. He for being a wuss and giving in to her wishes and she for insisting he couldn't marry the woman he really loved all along, Camilla.. More power to him, I hope she does become Queen..
Take a good look at Charles, I'm sure she has. I can't think of a better word for it, but I heard he's a real ninny.
But everything else Leah said echoes my exact thoughts.
Do I need to restate it?
