A 16-year old was driving a big rig down the 210 Freeway in Lake View Terrace, California. Why was an unlicensed 16-year old driving a big rig? The boy’s father, the man who should have been operating the truck, wanted to take a nap. Simple explanation, that makes sense, right?
The names of these two brilliant people have not been released. The un-named father let his un-named son drive a semi-truck without a license, and guess what? The boy fell asleep while at the wheel. The truck crashed close to a mobile home park around 3:30 am local time. The truck was full of whipped cream and cream cheese products.
According to the LA Times, there were no injuries, lucky for that duo. Police did have a
problem finding the two. Dad and son knew they were in deep trouble at that point so they did what came natural; they hid in the bushes so they wouldn’t get caught. Once located, the boy did admit he was driving the big-rig. Two lanes of the highway are closed and probably won’t reopen until late afternoon.
The boy may face charges for driving without a license. Perhaps dad and son should both be fined, the charge, stupidity.
