Westboro Baptist Church Claims They'll Picket Elizabeth Edwards Funeral

Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas are planning to picket the funeral of Elizabeth Edwards, which is sure to add to the stress the Edwards family must be feeling right now.

According to CNN, Westboro Baptist Church is filled with people such as  anti-hate groups, An Anti-Defamation league, and the Southern Poverty Law Center. The church is known for its extreme opposition to homosexuals, Jews and other groups.

This news is sickening. Elizabeth Edwards was a lovely woman, who fought cancer as hard as she could, but lost the battle on Tuesday. Edwards, was the wife of former Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards.

John and Elizabeth Edwards were estranged at the time of her death due to his infidelity, which spawned a love child with Rielle Hunter. Elizabeth Edwards funeral is set to be held on Saturday in North Carolina. Hopefully the people at the Westboro Baptist Church will realize the harm this is sure to do to the Edwards family and change their minds.

What needs to happen is for a bunch of people should gather around these Westboro demons' church and give them a taste of their own medicine.

American BS the lowest of low down under in a funeral..sickening!! The price of what they call "freedom" in the most powerful nation in the world.. losing their mind & heart. Do this in other countries ..and you'll be gone in an instant.

Just wanted to say that I was there at Elizabeth Edwards' funeral as a counter protester to the WBC. There were a couple of hundred counter protesters. We called our group The Line of Love. There were only 5 WBC people show up: 3 adults, 2 children. I honestly do not think the family saw them as they, and we, were pretty far away from the front door. Their signs were pretty dispicable though. There was the Thank God for Breast Cancer, but there was also Elizabeth in Hell, Methodist Fag Church. God Hates Fags. Thank God for Dead Soldiers. Don't Worship the Dead. You'll Eat Your Babies and one sign about something like Gays and Christmas, but I couldn't really read it since the child was not taller than the barricade.
