The School Board Shooting Video of Clay Duke - What it Revealed
While a meeting of board members took place in Panama City, Florida, a man sat quietly in the back as the business of the day was transacted. That man was Clay Duke. Without warning, the man walked over to a wall near the area where members sat and spray-painted the letter "V" on it surrounded by a circle. He then brandished a hand gun and instructed everyone in attendance to leave except the male members of the school board.
It is shocking how calm and calculated the obviously deranged man is in the video, but at a glance, one cannot tell he is not all there. Clay then said "IÂ’m gonna die today". This had to place all those in attendance on tilt just as they would be if learning that the plane they are traveling on is minutes from crashing. That desperation must have struck at the heart of the only female member of the board who was allowed to leave the meeting.
Moments after she was in the clear from the deteriorating situation on the inside, she returns. The video shows her sneaking up from the rear of Clay duke and striking the hand holding the gun. He wrestles her to the floor and calls her a “stupid b---ch”. Clay then turns his attention to the men still sitting and said he was there because his wife had been fired.
Bay City Schools Superintendent Bill Husfelt, in a calm demeanor tried to reason with the desperate man by saying he should allow the others to leave, and that he would give his wife her job back. However, Clay must have read through it or was intent on his death wish of “dying today” because the next thing he did was level the gun at the superintendent, and fired. Thankfully, the errant round missed, but it was followed up by a random shot that appeared to startle Clay. Seconds later, shots from off camera are heard, and the man appeared to have been hit. Clay falls to the floor in pain, and the school board shooting video ends.
The School Board Shooting Video of Clay Duke -What it Did Not Reveal
The compelling video gives hard evidence that the shooter was intent on causing widespread harm to those in attendance who he blamed for his wifeÂ’s alleged termination. It shows that miracles do happen, as not one person was injured from the exchange of gunfire between the desperate Duke and a security guard for the school system, who is credited for stopping the siege.
The few minutes of terror ended when the man committed suicide after being shot in the leg and abdomen. It is not known at this point if that resulted in his death. But, what is not shown in the video is a more ominous message found on the man’s Facebook page. In a post on the day of the shooting, Duke made a post that said, “They (the government) will think I’m a monster”. You betcha, sir; there is nothing more to take away from your actions that could have resulted in the deaths of several innocent people.
Police revealed that Clay Duke is no stranger to trouble, as he is a convicted felon for stemming from a string of violent crimes. Could anyone have seen this coming? Certainly, the school board shooting video showed what could have happened had it not been for the actions of the security guard.
