A Chicago area Victoria's Secret was struck by the Grinch on the Monday before Christmas, and from how much was stolen, he must have had a long list of women to buy for! Someone stole 153 bras from a Victoria's Secret store in suburban Chicago, the value of these bras is near $10,000 dollars! That's a lot of padding!
According to the Chicago Tribune - The theft took place between 7 and 10 p.m. Dec. 20, and the bras' total value was estimated at $9,675, an average of more than $63 each, police said.
"I'm assuming it was a display in the front of the store. They just come and sweep them off the display without being seen," Northbrook Police Department spokesman Michael Shep said, adding that police have seen that type of maneuver in other retail thefts.
Victoria's Secret corporate office says in a statement that the retailer is "aggressively" working with police. How does someone just walk into a store and walk away with 153 bras? Is it possible that the real crime is that 153 bras would cost almost $10,000?
