On January 20th of this year, the FBI arrested members of the New York Mafia, including some of the most well known and powerful mafia family members. There were over 700 law officials involved on all levels in making the arrests of around 130 mafia members.
Apparantly James Caan has offered to post bail for 76-year-old Andrew Russo also known as ‘Andy Mush' Russo. According to an article written by the Mail Online, Andrew Russo is a godfather to James Caan's son, Scott. This isn’t the first time that an actor has been associated with Mafia members. There were numerous stories about Frank Sinatra’s connection to the mob.

Because of the many films that have been made about the Mafia, names like Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, Genovese, and Luchese are very familiar to the American public. These are the names of what are called the Five Families of New York, and some members of these organizations were arrested, including Andrew Russo of the Colombo family.  Russo is charged with racketeering and murder.
An FBI story calls these arrests, “The Largest Coordinated Arrests in FBI History”. There have been large take downs of the American Mafia in the past, but still organized crime remains strong in this country.
