Long Island Facebook Feud: Woman Accused of...

A woman is accused of running over her cousin in a Long Island Facebook feud. The two relations were apparently arguing over (what else?) a man.

Giselle Penagos, 21, was left in the middle of a busy road in freezing, single digit weather after her cousins Melanie Spanopoulos ran over her two times with a minivan according to authorities. Penagos received a broken leg and shattered pelvis from the Facebook feud gone wild. She ended up in surgery at Elmhurst Hospital on Monday due to her injuries.

An unidentified man helped Penagos. Nassau County Detective Sgt. Robert Galgano said, "If it wasn't for the good Samaritan, she could very easily have been hit by another car." No kidding. Man or no man, this woman received pretty horrible treatment from her cousin.

The women had watched the Jets game at a sports bar, and on the way home when they began arguing about a man they were both in contact with on Facebook. From there, things escalated and obviously got very out of control.

Geez, reports say that even after Spanopoulos ran over Penagos two times she still yelled at the injured girl to get back in the minivan. After the arraignment Spanopoulos said, Â“This sucks.Â” No kidding. The fact that she would get in a Facebook feud with her cousin and end up running her over with a minivan most certainly does suck. It is unbelievable, and she deserves to be punished if she is found guilty. The cousins need to realize that a man isnÂ’t worth this type of damage.
