I get sooo stressed out at this time of year of course because of taxes and getting everything together for it, but also because I am just starting to wad my way through my Christmas bills. My accountant actually suggested last year that I start cutting down some bills in order to really help deal with my other, bigger debts - easy one was everyday bills. I started with my cell phone and decided to go prepaid instead of staying with a $110+ contract bill and overpriced phones. I took her advice and went to Walmart (total shock) and I bought a Straight Talk phone and their unlimited use plan - its this new cell phone service that is being sold through Walmart, but it isn't their company actually. Anyway, I have the same service I've had before in terms of minutes and options and it's $60 less a month than I used to pay. It was something simple and easy and it allowed me to allocate a little more money toward other debts and removed a small money worry.

I have a spereadsheet on excel that I use. I entere items as they happen, so no last minute searching for information. I do use a professional tax prepare, but I have everythihng so organized her job is a breeze. I just feel more confident having a pro do actual work, but it's my organizational abilities that insures the right information is there.
