Fuel prices are on the rise, which causes increases in most of the things that are purchased. Anyone who shops for groceries knows that prices for food are going up rapidly. Those who support the global warming theory now believe everyone should go further in reducing green house gases by taxing meat and milk.
This suggestion came as a result of a European study and was published by the Climate Journal.
“This tax is not at all a matter of forcing people to become vegetarians, but merely moving towards a slightly more climate-smart diet,” says Stefan Wirsenius of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
It seems hard to believe that this isn’t a way to force people to make changes to their lifestyles. This tax would be specifically designed to reduce the consumption of these products.
This seems to be just one more way that governments gain control and money in the name of global warming. Of course, at this time, itÂ’s only a suggestion. WasnÂ’t that how cap and trade legislation was developed? Any legislation or taxes imposed on companies to regulate emissions will be passed on to consumers.
This is a world effort to affect protection of the earthÂ’s climate. The most developed countries will be the ones that will bear the burden of those who canÂ’t afford it or wonÂ’t participate.
An article on Examiner.com suggests scientists are trying to impose their lifestyles on everyone and should direct their efforts on more productive ways. The Examiner.com article also points to another article at Discovery News that gives more information about this subject.
There seem to be many conflicting opinions on what is causing climate change, and/or if these are natural cycles that are occurring.

oh yeah, many conflicting opinions on the part of the ignorant non reality based public. Where scientists are concerned, especially climatologists, sorry, there is only one school of thought. It goes like this: human burning of fossil fuels by the billions of tons has increased the amount of Carbon Dioxide in the sky by 30% over the past century, with the result that more solar radiation is being trapped in our atmosphere.
It is what it is. Many prefer to deny it because dealing with it is rather inconvenient.

forecasts. Maybe because I'm in
my 50s, but the language used in
the forecasts seems a bit over the
top re the cold. Where I've been
for the last 20 days (in Norfolk) it
doesn't seem to have been as cold
as the forecasts.
On October 12, 2009, Kevin
Trenberth of UCAR sent an email titled
―BBC U-turn on climate‖ to some of the
most prestigious names in climatology,
including Michael Mann, Phil Jones (CRU),
Stephen Schneider (Stanford), Thomas Karl
(NOAA), and James Hansen (NASA).
Trenberth lamented the fact that:
[W]e can‟t account for the lack of
warming at the moment and it is a
travesty that we can‟t. The
CERES data published in the
August BAMS 09 supplement on
2008 shows there should be even
more warming: but the data are
surely wrong. Our observing
system is inadequate.
Phil Jones seemed concerned about
global cooling long before Trenberth‘s
lament. As he wrote to John Christy of the University of Alabama (Huntsville) on July 5, 2005:
The scientific community would
come down on me in no uncertain
terms if I said the world had
cooled from 1998. OK it has but it
is only 7 years of data and it isn't
statistically significant.
It‘s important to note here that on
February 13, Jones told the BBC that there
has been ―no statistically significant
warming‖ over the last 15 years.
Believe these con merchants I don't think so, they are the worst of our kind and deserve all the recent bad publicity that they get.
This is what two scientists had to say about part of his book.
Dr. Chris de Freitas, climate scientist, associate professor, University of Auckland, New Zealand: "I can assure Mr. Gore that no one from the South Pacific islands have fled to New Zealand because of rising seas. In fact, if Gore consults the data, he will see it shows sea level falling in some parts of the Pacific.
Dr. Mitchell Taylor, Manager, Wildlife Research Section, Department of Environment, Igloolik, Nunavut, Canada:"Our information is that 7 of 13 populations of polar bears in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago (more than half the world's estimated total) are either stable, or increasing …. Of the three that appear to be declining, only one has been shown to be affected by climate change. No one can say with certainty that climate change has not affected these other populations, but it is also true that we have no information to suggest that it has."
Have you ever noticed that when ever global warming is mentioned they always spout nonsense about the sea level rising, and those nice cuddly polar bears that clutch at our heartstrings.
Well sorry folks these charlatans that spout all this nonsense have been found out. The data is out there all you have to do is a little bit of research yourselves
One good way of making money from Climate change is build wind turbines, in Britain all over our country we have masses of them, in our hills in our countryside and in our sea. What I have found though is that when the manufactures build them they get massive grants from the British Government, and at least two manufacturers in Britain have relitives in the Government. Nothing like keeping it in the family is there. Build a wind turbine and come and get your free money, who's first to get their noses in the trough.
Right now we have farm subsidies on gmo animal feeds that actually tax me to keep the price of meat cheap. Why don't we just do away with that so things can be fair? Either way, eggplant burgers are way cheaper and healthier. I think I'll just stick with those.
We agree on our views of farm subsidies, Pat. It's not fair for vegetarians and other people who would rather cut back on expensive extras like meat. My tax dollars should never go to ensure anyone's monopoly or profit.
Strange. I grew up on a ranch and have never heard this.
Biochar is produced when biomass is heated up in an oxygen-deprived process called pyrolysis. This can also produce syngas and bio-oils, which can in turn be used as renewable energy, to make bio-asphalt, etc. For more details, please read Fees on Livestock to fund Biochar.
