February 14, 2010, 9:30AM - a bomb threat was called in through 911 saying that there was a bomb in the Wise County Courthouse in Decatur, TX. Police evacuated the Wise County Courthouse, where a meeting of county commissioners was taking place. Wise County residents, including this author, were shocked that the small country community would ever have a bomb threat.
By 10:30AM, police determined that there was no bomb, and people were allowed to return into the courthouse. At 3PM, the Wise County Messenger reported through Facebook that Shauna Lee Teague of Greenwood, TX has been arrested. Everyone knows everyone in a small town, and who would have thought that it would be an adult arrested, and not some teen with too much time.
It turns out that Teague was due in court on credit card abuse charges. Decatur Police Chief Rex Hoskins reported that Teague made the phone call from a Wal-Mart pay phone.
Photos of Teague being taken into custody appeared on the Wise County Messenger website and Facebook page. This local womanÂ’s walk of shame is public, and now everyone knows about not only the initial credit card abuse charges, but also that she called 911 from Wal-Mart saying there was a bomb in the courthouse.
She should have just showed up in court, instead of making her situation worse. At this time, no other charges against Teague have been announced, but it is only a matter of time.
