Are Banks Open on Presidents Day 2011? Find Out!

Tomorrow is Presidents day, and the question on the minds of so many people is: Are banks open on Presidents Day 2011? With the long weekend ahead, people may want to run a few extra errands to get caught up on things, but unfortunately, mostÂ banks will not be open on Presidents Day 2011.

According to an article at The Huffington Post, President's Day, also known as Washington's Birthday, will see the closure of the United States Postal Service, so mail will not be delivered on Monday. Additionally,Â Federal government agencies also observe the holiday and will also be closed.

So, what banks open on Presidents Day? According to ENC Today, Wachovia Bank has announced their branches will be open during the holiday, andÂ State EmployeesÂ’ Credit Union branches will also be open.

So, if you bank at either of these financial institutions, and you have a desire to do some banking during the holiday, you are in luck! Just don't sit around waiting on the mail all day! Your neighbors will look at you funny.

No big suprise here that some banks will be open for business on President's day, banks only respect their bottom line, that being, their money coffers and the bank's president, U.S. Presidents are not even in the running.

Do people actually celebrate holidays, I thought everyone was working like indentured slaves. For the elitists that is.

They are, but most do not admit they are endentured slaves. Also, most bank employees that I know have more than one job, so the banks may be closed, but their other jobs are open for business.

Every bank I have ever dealt with is always closed on any holiday they can take. Though this holiday is designed for the government, doctors, lawyers, bankers, rich, while the poor has to slave away even on thanksgiving, easter,Christmas (and easter and christmas are religious holidays and it is illegal for your employer not to let you off to perform your constitutional religious rights, I know this because I ended up working some where once where an employee got their religious rights every sunday.

It would be my suggestion that you should be careful about taking such posted information as being accurate as to legality that your employer must afford you time off from work in order for you to attend church or to take an active part in your faiths programs, without first checking such to be factual with your states "Hour and Wage Department"

The banks and post office get the day off, but not the kids. Hmmm there's something very wrong with that scenario.

Nope. They got Friday off for a conference and today was a snow day. That's it.

Unfortunately.

That's one reason I won't agree to MORE school like the politicians are lobbying for. At 2nd grade he's in there enough as it is. He doesn't have another day off for a month! Then it's one day off then go back for a couple days and another day off. WOW some break there.

There is NO spring/winter break all year.
