An Ice Cream store in London, called IceCreamists, is selling a new creation- ice cream made from human breast milk. ItÂ’s called Baby Gaga Breast Milk Ice Cream. Human donors give their breast milk and itÂ’s mixed with vanilla pods and lemon zest in order to create probably one of the most interesting ice creams on the market today.
Lady Gaga Found out about the name of the ice cream and has asked the shop to change the name to something other than “Baby Gaga” because she believes they are using the “Gaga” part because of her. The shop owner says, "How can she possibly claim ownership of the word 'gaga,' which since the dawn of time has been one of the first discernible phrases to come from a baby's mouth?” Lady Gaga is threatening to sue because she does not want her name associated with any ice cream made from human breast milk.

The name of this controversial ice cream may be up for debate in courts soon, but more importantly, the idea of the ice cream should be in courts before even considering what to name this creation. Human breast milk is widely known to hold many health benefits, and so far there haven’t been any reports on someone actually dying from drinking it- it’s just the safety factor of putting it in ice cream in mass quantities. For animal milk there are safety regulations put in place so the public can drink milk and feel comfortable knowing they won’t get sick, but what about human breast milk? The “ick” factor is enough to keep most people from even trying the ice cream, but if it doesn’t, are we sure it’s safe? There need to be regulations placed on human breast milk before we try to sell it as a consumable product for someone other than babies. Would you try this new creation given the dangers?

Frankly, I would not buy ice cream made from mothers milk, not because I would have any fear of developing some illness, but simply because I think my way of consumption was far more pleasing for both partners. I only wish that I was still of an appropriate age to enjoy such pleasant nursings of Love.
To me, ice cream, is ice cream and breast milk, is breast milk and never the twain shall meet. However, I must admit, that the concept of breast milk being used as a base ingredient for ice cream was quite thoughtfully innovative.
