Today, Kate Middleton and Prince William braved the rain to make their last official outing before their big day.
In fact, not only did they get wet while visiting Blackburn, Kate also gave the go for a race through Wilton Country Park just as her wedding preparation starts to heat up. Talk about a metaphor for this famous woman's life.
Kate Middleton went with Prince William on this visit to northwest England before getting down to the nitty gritty for the biggest event of her life. She mingled with the athletes, shook hands with hundreds and received copious bouquets of flowers.
But those flowers are just a reminder of all the details--like which blooms will be on hand for her nuptials--still to come for the royal wedding. Luckily for Kate Middleton, this is the last official tour until after her April 29 marriage to Prince William.
So what's a girl who may some day be Queen of England to do while waiting for the big day? Chances are she has quite the staff to execute her bidding. Still, by all reports she is also a person who likes to take charge, being hands on whenever possible.
Yet sometimes surprises are in store for Kate Middleton. Take today, when, after meeting with all the athletes, she and William headed inside for shelter only to be gifted a cake shaped in the form of a heart. It was made by a local purveyor, and consisted of a couple of shortbread layers cushioned by raspberry jam.
So, as the world waits for Kate Middleton and Prince William to wed, they get wet in Blackburn for the sake of a new school and a chance to get to know some of the kids while braving the rain. Kate was dressed smart but sensible, complete with umbrella (catch her look here), which is most likely the opposite of the way she will look on April 29 for all the world to see.
Are you eager to see the royal wedding? Does Kate Middleton seem like the ideal wife for Prince William? Will she make a good Queen of England if that comes to pass? Thoughts? Thanks.
