Conspiracy theories are already popping up around the reported death of Osama bin Laden and, as can be expected, some of them are pretty far out. But some questions are being raised which may take a long time to answer. If ever.
For instance, it's a given that such a momentous announcement could never be scheduled in advance. But did President Obama purposefully delay his speech so he could poke a stick at Donal Trump?
According to Gavon Laessig it's possible. The President intentionally announced a 10:30 ET start time which was pushed back a full hour. Plenty of time to kill off the "You're Fired!" segment of Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice."
Sound far-fetched? There's more and it's a mix of crazy and, well, maybe? Does anyone really believe that bin Laden's body has actually been cryogenically frozen since 2001? Or that the purported picture evidence was actually Photoshopped by the CIA? Only diehards probably.
But is it possible that Navy SEALs actually killed bin Laden's body double? Or that the DNA sample used to identify the body was taken from bin Laden's sister who died at a Massachusetts hospital? The hospital has since denied she was ever there.
As time passes even more absurd theories are bound to take hold. But there's an old saying: behind every myth there is a grain of truth.
