Wynika Mason drew her sword, ready to get medieval on her opponents at Lexington, Kentucky-area Pizza Hut. While it is unknown what prompted the argument, it is certain that Mason grew agitated after walking into the restaurant on Seventh Street Road and brandished her sword in preparation for a duel. Her challenge was not accepted, however, as employees were called before things got too interesting. Mason's brother, apparently accustomed to such historical behavior, grabbed his sister's sword and placed it in his car before any more harm could be done.
Mason, who evidently carries swords with her in preparation for a duel at all times, will face charges of first-degree disorderly conduct. This sort of wacky adventure makes the idea of gun ownership seem even more chilling. Imagine if Mason, who seemed to be agitated and angry (and perhaps even a bit mentally disturbed), had pulled out a gun and fired shots? At least the sword was contained before she hurt anyone. Can we say the same for a gun?

2.) She's a southerner
So......why is everyone so surprised?
Now to the crux of the article; the author suggest that if the state of Kentucky had Concealed Carry handgun laws in effect at the time of this incident, the incident could have gotten out of hand, shot would have been fired, etc. etc.
I say that had it not been for the womans brother who disarmed her, there certainly could have been serious consequences for all concerned, all inflicted upon innocent people by the obviously either mentally disturbed and/or maniacal insane woman.
However, had the state of Kentuckey actually had a CC gun law in effect, would be criminals and people like this woman, may well think twice before threatening and/or attacking other innocent people who have the unfortuneate bad luck of crossing their path. Inasmuch, as the chance that the person to which they are directing their anger and/or potential assault, may well be legally armed themselves under a CC gun law and thereby able to defend against such an attack.
To the author of this article, I would point out that no enacted law stopped this woman from carring a sword to use an assualt weapon and no enacted law will help nor hinder such a person from chosing to carry a gun for the same purpose. This woman could just as well have pulled a gun as the sword which she did branish. Laws do not mean anything to such people, they act upon their uncontrolable extreme anger and/or mental disability, they do not act in accordance to any written law. What logic did you use to come to the conclusion that this woman or people like her, would ever obey any laws concerning guns on any other type of weapon ? These people are not law abiding citizens, they are criminals, anti social degenerates and/or mentally sick individuals. Guns, swords, knives, machetes, clubs, sticks, stones etc. are all weapons of choice, not weapons used under/by any law.
I live in South Carolina, a state which has had a Concealed Carry Handgun law in effect since 1996 with excellent success and results. Those who are anti gun law activist and/or supporters, should remember, it is the law abiding members of our/your society who would apply for a CC license, it would not the criminal element and potential mass murders, those types, don't seek nor care about such laws, they do as they damn well please.
It would be my position that this article, counter to what the author had intended, actually made the case for not only Kentucky, but all states to enact CC handgun laws for the welfare of their law abiding citizens..
