The teen who was killed in the Lamar Odom / Khloe Kardashian car crash was buried in NYC on Tuesday. Many friends and neighbors chipped in for the burial since it's being reported his family lives "hand to mouth."
The tragic accident happened Friday as Odom was leaving a favorite hangout in his old neighborhood in Queens, NY. A motorcycle rider, who may have been driving erratically and showing off, clipped the front end of the SUV Odom was riding in as the couple left the scene.
The motorcycle reportedly jumped the sidewalk and struck 15-year-old Awsaf Alvi Islam, who was thrown to the ground, severely wounding his head. "It hit him from behind and he went right down headfirst," said Rahat Islam, a friend of the dead teen who witnessed the accident.
So far, police have not pressed charges in the crash, but an investigation is continuing. Although Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom had nothing to do with the accident, it's a big story any time a Kardashian is involved.
The couple have yet to say anything publicly about the incident but it would be good if they could reach out to the family and help with the costs of burying a teenage boy who reportedly was a quiet, studious person. Surely it would be greatly appreciated, because it's always hard to deal with such an unnecessary tragedy.
