This is the tenth Powerball drawing since someone won $77,100,000 from a ticket purchased in Georgia. It's been over a month without a jackpot winner, and tonight is a big one. $160,000,000 smackeroos—if you take the annuity option paid out over 30 annual payments. The winnings drop to $85,200,000 if you take the one-time cash option. You also have to think about the 25% federal taxes, and/or state taxes if your state imposes taxes on lottery winnings.
Latest Powerball Winners
Although there were no Powerball jackpot winners in the last Powerball drawing, it did produce four $200,000 lottery winners that matched five Powerball winning numbers, but not the Power Ball number. The winning Powerball tickets were purchased in Arkansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, and North Carolina. Sadly, none of these winners spent the extra dollar for a PowerPlay ticket. If they had, they would be instant millionaires.
There were also 48 Match 4 + Powerball winners for $10,000 each. Eight of those winners purchased PowerPlay tickets. When multiplied by the PowerPlay number of 2, the lucky winners doubled their winnings with $20,000 each. All in all, there were a total of 1,094,051 Powerball winners for the Saturday drawing.
