A cancer survivor dating site has launched, linking potential daters with others who have shared the same traumatic experience—having cancer. However, it's so much more than pairing up people who understand what it's like to be diagnosed with the potentially deadly disease. You see, the site is made as a sort of safe haven for the many people who want to find love...but can't have sex.
"Enter 2date4love, a new website created by Laura Brashier, a 50-year-old cervical cancer survivor. The site launched at the beginning of this month. The website is aimed toward people who cannot have sex, either due to disability, or caused by disease. For example, certain cancer treatments leave patients unable to have sex," The Huffington Post reports.
Previously, dating websites catered to people who wanted to find a "soul mate" of sorts, but many of these sites have been flooded with creeps, stalkers, and weirdos. There are few people you can trust, and internet dating isn't what it used to be (you know, way back when there was no internet). The site that Brashier has created sounds promising and it really seems like people who join will be grateful to find someone who just gets it. Will it be home to some creeps? Probably... that goes without saying. But as of now, it seems that 2date4love will do more good than harm.
