The winning Powerball numbers for Wednesday, October 12, 2011 are 10, 12, 23, 43, 47, the Powerball is 18, and the PowerPlay number is X 3. The bad news? There were no Powerball jackpot winners in last night's drawing. The good news? Saturday's drawing is now estimated to be at least $105,000,000—possibly even more as momentum builds and lottery sales skyrocket!
October 12, 2011 Powerball Winners
Even though there were no $86,000,000 jackpot winners, Wednesday's Powerball drawing wasn't a total bust. One (1) lucky Powerball player purchased a Match 5 + 0 winning lottery ticket in Wisconsin and won $1,000,000. Normally, the payout is only $200,000, but this smart second-tier winner spent an extra dollar on a PowerPlay ticket which increased his or her lottery winnings to a cool million!
There were an additional seven (7) Match 5 + 0 winners who matched five out of six winning Powerball numbers, but not the Powerball for $200,000 each. The winners purchased their tickets in Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. While the winners are probably thrilled with their winnings, they're probably also kicking themselves for not buying PowerPlay tickets. If they had, they would be millionaires as well! They found out the hard way. It pays to play the PowerPlay!
The big money didn't stop last night. There were also forty (40) Match 4 + 1 winners for $10,000 each. Five (5) of those winners purchased PowerPlay tickets, and when multiplied by Wednesday's PowerPlay number of 3, their tickets were automatically multiplied to $30,000! The total number of Powerball winners for October 12th was 754,121, with prizes ranging from $3 to $100. Congratulations to everyone!
