Interracial Couples Banned from Kentucky Church: So Much for Tolerance

Interracial couples banned from a church called the Gulnare Free Will Baptist Church. On Sunday, this Kentucky church put the issue to a vote and decided that they were no longer going to welcome and be tolerant of interracial couples.

The church's former pastor, Melvin Thompson, said, "I am not racist. I will tell you that. I am not prejudiced against any race of people, have never in my lifetime spoke evil about a race. That's what this is being portrayed as, but it is not."

Then, what is it? Interracial couples banned from this church and everyone responsible is shouting, "I'm not racist." There is a reason that these supposedly welcoming and tolerant folks are purposely and deliberately mistreating interracial couples. If it isn't racism, then what is it? They haven't really given a good answer. They say they do not condone the marriages but refuse to elaborate. Sounds mighty discriminatory.

Other Free Will Baptist Churches have not taken such a disgusting stance and freely accept all people regardless of who they love. It seems to only be the Pike County location where interracial couples banned from this church is an issue.
