Whitney Duncan Enjoying Fame -- Not Talking...

Whitney Duncan seems to be enjoying the spotlight lately, but it seems that something really important has slipped her mind: Her cousin, Holly Bobo. One would figure that the reality television star/sometimes country singer would use her fame as a platform to help bring Holly home.

Whitney Duncan has been on the hit reality series Survivor recently, and with becoming a cast-member she's had a lot of time in front of the public. The good-ole country girl has had a bit of a problem, and was voted off the island as well. You see, some rumors surfaced that she was secretly dating one of her Survivor cast-mates, and she's married! She says she has an unhealthy marriage and fell in love on the hit reality series. Oh brother!

The saddest thing about seeing Whitney Duncan enjoying her 15-minutes of fame, and seeing her crumble beneath a sex scandal, is knowing that her 20-year old cousin is still missing. Holly Bobo vanished from Darden, Tennessee in April of this year, allegedly abducted by a man in camouflage gear. In the beginning, Whitney was gung-ho about spreading awareness for her missing cousin, a nursing student who was close to graduating.

Now, she seems to have forgotten that she has the platform suitable for spreading the news that Holly is still, in fact, missing. Why is everyone so silent about this missing persons case? In all honesty, the fact that the 20-year old blonde student is missing is far more important and interesting than Whitney Duncan skanking it up on an island behind her husband's back.

She did mention Holly once or twice but yes, it may have possibly helped more if done regularly and consistently by someone as famous as her and while she was on TV. Looks like it is becoming a *cold* case but Bill Warner seems to keeping at it. And that's good to see. Hopefully the case is solved and the serial (??) killer or kidnapper is brought to justice.

Hi Chelsea...You haven't heard from me for a long time. Whitney actually mentioned Holly seeral times. I understand that she would have worn some of her Tshirts if the production people had allowed, but her clothing had to be approved by them. She doesn't have a lot of days when Holly isn't predominant, as she is one of the principals in defending Clint from attacks by people who totally have no facts to base them. Her choices in life are not anyone else's business actually, and I defend her right to make them without opposition. Thank you for some articles I read of yours lately that were actually quite well done. Sorry, but this one just is not.

This is an unfair portrayal of Whitney Duncan. If you'd read her Facebook and/or Twitter messages, you'd know the Survivor editors were not kind to her, and did not show much of her participation in the program. The would not allow her to wear her Holly Bobo shirts, and cut her statement from the season finale where she payed tribute to her cousin. Whitney has a lot of talent and has been trying for a long time to make her mark on the music business, so why shouldn't she try to take advantage of what little fame being on the reality show might bring? Next time, Chelsea, dig a little deeper before you commit your thoughts to paper. Please.
