A missing woman who was murdered and dismembered has been revealed as the victim of a crime ring in Oklahoma. This shocking update is grim, graphic and heartbreaking as the family of Carina Saunders tries to pick up the pieces without her.
The details of this case are utterly gruesome, and it's absolutely shocking to learn of such a crime syndicate taking place in America's heartland. Nonetheless, it's great to hear that law enforcement is diligently working on dismantling this group of despicable criminals. It appears that one man is currently in custody over the murder of missing woman Carina Saunders.
Sources report that Jimmy Lee Massey was apprehended on drug charges when he confessed to the abduction, torture and dismemberment of 19-year-old Carina Saunders. This isn't the worst part of the story, like one would imagine. Instead, it's only the surface of something far more sickening.
What happened to Carina Saunders?
A witness came forward after the arrest of Massey, saying that she, too, was abducted by the man in custody. She said she was dragged into a vehicle by Jimmy Lee Massey, and then transported somewhere else where she was forced to watch him torture, murder and dismember the young woman. She said that he did this to send a gruesome message to her and others who do not comply with the crime ring's human trafficking business.
What's really sad about these details is that police believe Carina was not a part of this. She was chosen at random as a medium for Massey to make a point to the woman he abducted and released. They also believe several other people are involved, and they are hot on the trail of one man who is a fugitive on drug charges as well. This is just the beginning of what looks like a massive statewide investigation.
Human trafficking in Oklahoma?
It's not entirely unheard of for huge trafficking rings to take place of this nature. In fact, the United States of America is on the list of countries with the most cases of this horribly demeaning crime. Nonetheless, it's not always responsible for cases of missing women.
Hopefully investigators pay more attention to missing women in this state, and surrounding regions. There are currently other women missing in the state of Oklahoma, so investigating the potential of this being a statewide syndicate is pretty necessary. For instance, the body of Tasha Knox was found recently, and her minivan was also just discovered. Tasha Knox was found in a ditch, with no apparent signs of trauma. Officials also already have a person of interest in the case. Hopefully there doesn't turn out to be any connections in these women, and hopefully this human trafficking crime ring is busted entirely.
