The Twitter trend, "R.I.P. Glenda Monster," has been dominating the social networking site for hours. Lady Gaga's fans are keeping the name of another bullying victim at the top of the trending list in an effort to bring attention to the horrifying subject.
At first, the trend appeared to be another death hoax that seems to plague the site, but unfortunately, it is looking more and more like a young girl took her life. The details are sketchy, but several foreign newspapers are reporting Glenda was a 14-year-old girl who slit her wrists. According to Twitter, the girl could not stand the bullying anymore.
Lady Gaga is one of the loudest voices against bullying and is set to launch a charity all in the name of anti-bullying. Can it help prevent these tragedies? This is the second death of a Little Monster and the tight-knit group is circling the wagons around their fallen comrade. Information making the rounds reveals the girl was from Brazil and had left a final message on her Twitter account, "#MonsterOffForever." That last message was posted on January 31 and the account has been silent ever since.
Prior to her final post, she had left a string of revealing messages. In one she wrote, "@ladygaga thank you, for you have taught me many things. I love you very much, I hope one day to see you in Heaven!" In another telling message she wrote, "@ladygaga Goodbye, mother!" Glenda says goodbye to her fellow monsters and another boy who she refers to her as "love."
