Powerball Lottery Results and Winners February 18, 2012
Not everyone that bought Powerball tickets will be crying in their cereal Sunday morning, however. Some sizable money prizes were won Saturday night. Five (5) Match 5 + 0 winners will be accepting $1,000,000 checks for matching five out of six Powerball winning numbers, but not the Powerball number.
The Powerball winners purchased their lucky lottery tickets from the Florida Lottery, Georgia Lottery, Iowa Lottery, Illinois Lottery, and the Ohio Lottery for the second-tier prize. Had the lottery winners spent an extra dollar on Power Play tickets, they would have had their $1,000,000 automatically doubled to $2,000,000. You can bet these Powerball winners will be buying Power Play tickets from now on!
In addition to the $1,000,000 winners, there were also twenty-three (23) Match 4 + 1 winners for $10,000 each. Seven (7) of those players DID buy Power Play tickets, and as a result will be cashing $40,000 checks instead! All together there were a total of 602,907 Powerball winning tickets sold for the February 18th drawing. The prize amounts range from between $4 and $1,000,000. The big question is, are you a Powerball winner? And if so, how much did you win?
When is the Next Powerball Drawing?
The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Wednesday, February 22, 2012, and has an estimated jackpot of $60,000,000 annuity paid out in 30 annual payments, or a one-time payment of $37,100,000 before taxes. The Powerball game is played in 42 States, Washington D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball winning numbers are drawn live Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 10:59pm ET.
